The Office of New Student & Spartan Family Programs provides comprehensive and meaningful programs to facilitate a successful transition to UNCG and support students through the first year. We offer services and resources in a caring and respectful environment for new students as well as their families. We prepare and encourage students to connect with their peers and engage fully in the rich learning environment and diverse culture at UNCG, while instilling our unique University traditions. We understand that families and peer leaders play a vital role in supporting the academic success and overall well-being of students. We intentionally partner with campus resources to enhance and enrich students' learning experiences and social development throughout their time at UNCG.

Come join your student at UNCG for Spring Family Day this semester! Spring Family Day gives you an opportunity to reconnect with your student and check out many of the fun and interesting things going on at UNCG. This year's Spring Family Day activities will include a Spartan Families Luncheon, International Festival, Miles Davis Jazz Concert, Departmental Dance Performance, a Day at Piney Lake, and much more. The Spartan Families Fund is an annual fund that helps support student success - from move-in through graduation - by sustaining vital programs that contribute to your student's education and learning environment. - Local Discounted Hotels for UNCG Parents and Family Members
UNCG has joined up with local hotels to offer you the best rates. Please mention that you are attending UNCG's Commencement Ceremony or SOAR Event. See the hotel list HERE. - Parent/Family Association (PFA)
Join for free by following the link and start receiving Family Connections, the e-newsletter distributed monthly during the academic year to keep you posted on current happenings at UNCG. You will also have access to FamilyLink, an emergency email notification system to keep families informed in the event of a campus crisis. - Parent/Family Advisory Council (PFAC)
The PFAC enhances high quality programs and educational opportunities for students and their families by acting as a liaison between the Parent Family Association and UNCG. Active at campus events involving families from Family Weekend to SOAR, the PFAC also meets biannually with University officials to offer parent and family feedback to the University. - Family Weekend
An annual event for over 20 years, this Spartan tradition of festivities, food, and educational opportunities occurs during Homecoming, a great time to visit UNCG and see how the fall semester is going for your student.
- Blue & Gold Birthdays
Want to give your student a birthday they will remember for a lifetime? A Blue & Gold Birthday is the way to go! If your student is away from home for the first time or if you want to show your senior that you are thinking of them on their big day, a Blue & Gold Birthday will be an unforgettable celebration.
