The 25th annual International Festival will be held on Saturday, April 14 at the Fountain Plaza near the Dining Hall from noon to 5pm. I-Fest promotes cultural awareness and appreciation for countries across the globe. More than 40 countries will be represented at the festival through food, crafts, demonstrations, and live dance and musical performances. In case of rain, the Festival will be held in the Health and Human Performance Building.

UNCG's Reunion Weekend will be held April 13-14. Reunion Weekend provides an opportunity for alumni to return to UNCG and revisit the campus and their own collegiate careers. Alumni from class years ending in the numbers 2 and 7 will be highlighted during the weekend, along with the Class of 1957, which is celebrating its 50th reunion. Activities range from a music and fashion show through the ages to a Caribbean celebration. Additionally, all "vanguard" alumni (those who graduated 50 years ago or more) are invited to a special breakfast with Chancellor Sullivan on Saturday morning. The 115th May Commencement Ceremony will take place Friday, May 11 at 10:00AM in the Greensboro Coliseum. As a reminder to parents and family members of graduating seniors, a $50 graduation fee is required of all graduates. The fee is payable 30 days prior to graduation and should be paid in the Cashiers and Student Accounts Office.

Looking for an inexpensive, car-free transportation solution for your student to get around Greensboro? Is your student living off-campus next year and not sure how to efficiently get to campus for classes? Try HEAT, Higher Education Area Transit. HEAT began offering services to students from seven area campuses in August 2006. HEAT offers transportation around the Greensboro area for UNCG students free of charge. The Student Success Center is comprised of three offices that work to enable student success at UNCG: The Learning Assistance Center, which offers tutoring and academic skills instruction; Special Support Services, which offers support and services to students who qualify; and the Supplemental Instruction Program, which provides a series of weekly discussion/review sessions for historically challenging courses. The Student Success Center takes pride in statistics showing that students who actively participate in the Center's services enjoy improved course grades and increased GPAs. If your student is having difficulty in any of his or her classes, please encourage a visit to the Student Success Center to take advantage of their services.

Campus Recreation's Outdoor Adventures offers a variety of organized adventure trips, including caving, hiking, mountain biking, rock climbing, sea kayaking, skiing, and canoeing, as well as white water kayaking and rafting. All equipment needed for the trips is provided by Outdoor Adventures. Trips are open to students, faculty and staff, and guests. The fee for each trip covers transportation, equipment, instruction, and, if the trip is scheduled overnight, meals and a free t-shirt or Nalgene water bottle. CPR for the Workplace classes are offered through the Student Recreation Center and the Campus Recreation Department. The class covers First Aid, Adult CPR, Infant/Child CPR, and AED Training. Classes are taught in two-day sessions and cost $90 (the price includes the required workbook). Classes will be offered April 14 and 15, April 28 and 29, and May 15 and 16. Students can sign up for classes at the fourth floor Reception Desk in the Student Recreation Center. Class size is limited to ten students, so interested students need to sign up as soon as possible, as classes tend to fill quickly. For more information on the classes, please visit:

The UNCG Department of Theatre will be performing several plays during the month of April. Holy Ghosts, a play about a journey of shelter, love, and faith, will be presented April 24 at 8pm and April 27 at 7pm. Private Lives, the story of a divorced couple who unexpectedly meet while honeymooning with their new spouses, runs April 11, 12, and 25 at 7pm and April 13, 14, and 28 at 8pm. Our Lady of 121st Street, which focuses on a group of old classmates from Harlem that find themselves at the funeral of a feared and beloved nun from their childhoods, will be performed April 18, 19, and 26 at 7pm, April 20 and 21 at 8pm, and April 22 and 29 at 2pm. Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students, senior citizens, and children, $8 for UNCG alumni, and $7 for current UNCG students.
